Now that I'm in my second year of Etsy, it's probably time to say something about myself.

I come from a family of craftsmen and at the age of 5 I would rather dress my dolls with self-crocheted things than play with them.
My grandma was a seamstress, my mother (is) a super good seamstress, embroiderer, knitter... the two of them taught me everything they could pass on.
I love fabrics, borders, wool - at the age of 8 there was the very first sewing machine!!!
For me one of the best places ;) In my "workshop" on one of my machines.

Since then, all this has taken its course.
Sewing courses, workshops, patchwork, knitting design... I wanted to be able to do and know everything and sew almost daily several hours.
My standards are high, both for the fabric qualities I sell and for all the products I manufacture.
I had a successful own label for 10 years, with products protected throughout Europe, which I produced at the peak time with up to 5 seamstresses.
These were distributed by us In Germany, and partly also throughout Europe via trade fairs; also own online shop, marketing and press relations.
The time expenditure was immense, I had max 2 weeks vacation / year, long working days, fairs on weekends - too little remaining time with 3 sons, husband and dog.

That's why I'm taking a break and thinking about how I can continue it on a smaller scale.

In between, partly parallel still fabric market Holland, I realized after 5 years, however, that the trade in fabrics alone is not the "yellow of the egg" for me.

Since I have a lot of experience with work optimization and workflows, I always make small series when I have ideas. Anything else makes no sense to me.
From now on I will offer finished products on Etsy, partly also sample parts.
There will also be a separate shop again, but that still takes time - I'll let you know when.

As mentioned I have 3 (meanwhile) adult sons, 2 more I have married with my current husband ( so 5 , from 18 -27 years), 2 of my sons live with us.

My middle son Lennart is my holiday replacement in terms of scissor nurse shipping.
My husband is my most important support, he lets me "romp and rage" in the studio - and does not slow me down in my "creative thrusts". <3
I am not a hobby seamstress, but a sole proprietor with his own large space and will not participate in "incomprehensible pricing".
I always try to call up fair prices, which are also subject to clear calculation rules.

I think we will have fun together for a while.
Until then, everyone stays healthy and creative for me.

Da ich jetzt in meinem zweiten Etsy Jahr bin, ist es wohl Zeit etwas zu meiner Person zu sagen.

Ich entspringe einer Familie von Handwerkern und habe mit 5 Jahren schon lieber meine Puppen mit selbstgehäkelten Sachen eingekleidet, als mit ihnen zu spielen.
Meine Oma war Schneiderin, meine Mutter (ist) eine supergute Näherin, Stickerin, Strickerin.....die beiden haben mir alles beigebracht, was sie weitergeben konnten.
Ich liebe Stoffe , Borten , Wolle- mit 8 Jahren gab es die allererste Nähmaschine!!!
Für mich einer der besten Orte ;) In meiner "Werkstatt" an einer meiner Maschinen.

Seither nahm das alles seinen Lauf.
Nähkurse ,Workshops, Patchwork, Strickdesign....ich wollte alles können und wissen und nähe fast täglich mehrere Stunden.
Mein Anspruch ist hoch, sowohl an die Stoffqualitäten , die ich verkaufe, als auch an alle Produkte, die ich herstelle.
Ich hatte 10 Jahre ein erfolgreiches eigenes Label, mit europaweit geschützten Produkten , die ich in der Spitzenzeit mit bis zu 5 Schneiderinnen produziert habe.
Diese wurden von uns Deutschland ,-und teilweise auch europaweit über Messen vertrieben ; ebenfalls eigener Online Shop ,Marketing und Pressearbeit.
Der zeitliche Aufwand war immens, ich hatte max 2 Wochen Urlaub / Jahr, lange Arbeitstage, Messen am Wochenende - zu wenig übrige Zeit bei 3 Söhnen , Mann und Hund.

Ich pausiere deshalb gerade und überlege , wie ich es in kleinerem Rahmen weiterführen kann.

Dazwischen lag, teilweise parallel noch Stoffmarkt Holland, ich habe nach 5 Jahren jedoch erkannt, dass der Handel mit Stoffen alleine auch nicht das "Gelbe vom Ei" für mich ist.

Da ich sehr viel Erfahrung mit Arbeitsoptimierung und Arbeitsabläufen habe , fertige ich immer kleine Serien, wenn ich Ideen habe. Alles andere macht für mich keinen Sinn.
Ich werde auf Etsy ab jetzt fertige Produkte, teilweise auch Musterteile anbieten.
Einen separaten Shop soll es auch wieder geben, das dauert aber noch- ich lass euch wissen wann.

Wie erwähnt habe ich 3 ( mittlerweile) erwachsene Söhne, 2 weitere hab ich mit meinem jetzigen Mann noch dazu geheiratet ( also 5 , von 18 -27 Jahren), 2 von meinen Söhnen leben mit uns.

Mein mittlerer Sohn Lennart ist meine Urlaubsvertretung in Sachen Scherenschwester- Versand.
Mein Mann mein wichtigster Support, er lässt mich im Atelier " toben und wüten"- und bremst mich nicht in meinen "Kreativschüben". <3
Ich bin keine Hobbynäherin, sondern Einzelunternehmer mit eigener großer Räumlichkeit und werde mich nicht an" nicht nachvollziehbaren Preisgestaltungen" beteiligen.
Ich versuche immer gerechte Preise aufzurufen , die auch klaren Kalkulationsregeln unterliegen.

Ich denke wir werden noch eine Zeit lang Spaß miteinander haben.
Bis dahin bleibt mir alle gesund und kreativ.
