My grandmother was the anchor, the center of our family; she was the reason we were together so many times in the summer, and throughout the year. Her passing created a huge void and I still cry thinking of her house being torn down. It took me years to realize how thankful I am that it WAS torn down; that I didn't have to drive by and see another family in that house.
