My tea (blossom) story

"If you are cold, tea will warm you,
When you are heated, it will cool you down,
If you are depressed, he will cheer you up,
If you are aroused, he will calm you down."
(William Gladstone)

Drinking tea has always been a matter of course for me, I grew up with it. I drink my tea in the morning and evening, at least. The special thing about tea for me is that I like to drink it always and everywhere: tea never gets too bland or too sweet or too heavy for me. That tea can warm and cool. And that there are so many different varieties and mixtures that I don't have to worry about "running out" of tea at some point...

I guess I was just one year old when I drank tea for the first time. I was born and raised in Russia and for Russians, tea is a national drink. It was quite normal for me to get black tea for breakfast and dinner. Back then, there was this "Indian tea" – whatever that was, probably Ceylon tea. It was really hard to get for a while and was only prepared on special occasions.

By the way, in my childhood the tea was sweetened with home-cooked jam made from strawberries, sour cherries or sea buckthorn. My grandparents drank their black tea in a completely different way: sugar was bought in large pieces and then chopped up at home. Then the sugar pieces were eaten with tea or sucked. But that was a long time ago.

My best tea experience was when I first saw a tea flower rise in the hot water. I was really fascinated, I didn't know that tea can also be SO! After that, I tried it out and found my favorite tea flowers based on Yin Zhen tea. And suddenly I knew what I wanted to sell in my tea shop: tea blossoms!

Additional policies and FAQs

Here you will find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about our tea blossoms, glass jugs and tea blossom gift sets. Have fun browsing!

+What are tea flowers?+

Tea flowers are a Chinese tea specialty. They consist of dried tea leaves and flowers. Each individual tea leaf was picked by hand and tied together with cotton threads to form small works of art, in the middle of which there is a real beautiful flower, which differs in shape and color depending on the type of tea. You just have to put your tea blossom in a glass jug of hot water and the tea magic begins! The small, at first glance inconspicuous tea balls slowly begin to open in the hot water, and a beautiful, fairytale-like colorful tea blossom comes up...

+Where do tea flowers come from?+

Our tea comes from the high mountain regions of the Chinese province of Fujian, the largest tea producer in China. Fujian is one of the classic and most important tea growing areas at all, many well-known tea varieties are grown here.

Fujian Province is located on the southeast coast of China. On the western border of the province rises the Wuyi Mountains, after which the precious Wuyi Shan tea was named. With its mountain and river landscapes, with its deep, narrow gorges and beautiful waterfalls, Fujian is under the protection of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Many well-known teas are grown in Fujian: white, green, oolongs, jasmine and black teas. Among other things, the precious Wuyi-Shan variety and the Anxi Ti Kuan Yin come from Fujian.

+How are tea flowers made?+

A tea blossom is tied together with a cotton thread from over a hundred hand-picked tea leaf tips and real flowers. We dictate the design of the tea flowers and our Chinese colleagues do the rest. Tying the tea flowers together is an art in itself: only a few Chinese tea binders master them. It contains secrets that are passed on from binder to binder.

+What does blossom tea taste like?+

The taste of the flower tea can be different. Tea flowers based on white tea are pleasantly mild and make the tea sweet and grassy-tart. Flowering tea based on green tea tastes stronger and more bitter. There are also tea flowers with black tea, these give a typical black tea taste. The tea taste is intensified and flavored by the flowers. For example, the jasmine aroma in some tea flower varieties can be clearly tasted.

+Do tea flowers contain artificial flavourings, preservatives or colours?+

No! Our tea flowers are 100% natural and ecologically unpolluted. They contain no dyes or preservatives and no additional flavors.

+Can tea flowers be used as a wellness tea?+

Yes. Chinese flower tea is not only tasty and a pleasure for the eye, but also good for body and soul. It warms you up when you are cold, it gives you new energy for a good start to the day and helps you to calm down in the evening.

+How are tea flowers prepared correctly?+

In order for your tea blossom to develop its full splendor and you get the special taste, you have to pay attention to a lot when preparing tea flowers: the right water temperature, the right tea dishes, the brewing time, etc. Learn more about it here: tee-bluete.de/teegenuss/zubereitung.html

+Why prepare tea flowers in a special glass jug?+

Our glass jugs have been specially designed for flowered tea. They are small and delicate (500 mg) and have a so-called magnifying glass effect. As a result, the risen tea blossom appears even bigger, more beautiful and more impressive. So you can enjoy your tea to the fullest.

The glass jug is handmade of heat-resistant borosilicate glass. It is suitable for dishwasher, microwave and plugs.

+How are the tea flowers packaged?+

Each tea blossom is individually foil-packed, so that the natural aroma of the tea can not escape and you can fully enjoy your enjoyment. The tea flowers are delivered in an original tea blossom® pillow box, which can serve you as a beautiful, tasteful gift box. We design the gift packaging ourselves and have it printed by our colleagues.

+Are there also tea blossom gift sets?+

Yes, in our online shop you can not only order individual tea sandwiches, but also buy beautiful gift sets. The tea blossom gift set "Zweisam" contains a glass jug specially designed for flowering tea and three tea blossom varieties and the gift set "Märchenhaft" consists of the above-mentioned glass jug and five different tea flowers. You can also order the small or large tea blossom set "Black and Green Dragon" and many others from us.

Of course, we also put together very individual tea blossom gift sets for you, which can be provided with a personal message on request.
