Mon amour de créer des choses intéressantes et belles dure toute la vie. Ça a vraiment commencé à 11 ans quand ma grand-mère m'a appris à crocheter. À partir de ce moment-là, je n'ai jamais pu obtenir assez de fil. Maintenant, à 66 ans, ma réserve est vaste. Certains diraient à la limite du stockage.
Au printemps 2010, j'ai pris la décision de quitter ma carrière de camionneur pour m'occuper de mes parents. Il ne m'a pas fallu longtemps pour avoir besoin d'un exutoire pour ma créativité. Quelqu'un m'a suggéré de regarder Etsy. En juillet 2010, j'ai ouvert ma boutique, la nommant TexasTangledThreads. N'importe qui avec une réserve de fil et de fil peut deviner d'où vient le nom. De plus, mon frère avait l'habitude de me taquiner à propos de prendre du fil parfaitement droit et de tout emmêler exprès... c'était un super taquin.
Maintenant, avec mon temps à nouveau à moi, j'ai ajouté mon amour des choses anciennes à mes créations en fibre. Quand je trouve quelque chose du début des années 1900 ou avant, j'ai l'impression qu'une fenêtre s'est ouverte dans l'histoire. My love of creating interesting and beautiful things is life long. It really got off the ground at age 11 when my grandmother taught me to crochet. From that point on, I could never get enough yarn. Now, at age 66 my stash is extensive. Some would say verging on hording.
In the spring of 2010, I made the decision to leave my career as an over the road trucker to care for my parents. It did not take long for me to need an outlet for my creativity. Someone suggested I look at Etsy. In July of 2010, I opened my shop, naming it TexasTangledThreads. Anyone with a stash of yarn and thread can guess where the name came from. Plus, my brother used to tease me about taking perfectly straight yarn and tangeling it all up on purpose.... he was a great tease.
Now, with my time my own again, I have added my love of old things to my fiber creations. When I find something from the early 1900's or before I feel like a window has opened in history. I am now sharing some of my finds with my customers here on Etsy.
