Nasci e cresci na área metropolitana de Portland, e vivi aqui a vida toda, com exceção de dois anos muito agitados em Hollywood há cerca de 20 anos.

Tenho vários anos de design formal e treinamento de belas artes, mas muito do que eu sei e uso diariamente foi aprendido através de estudo independente, e no meu livro essa é realmente a melhor maneira de aprender. Faço design gráfico desde 1996, e fui freelancer em tempo integral de 2007 a cerca de 2017. Eu fui deixado de lado por alguns anos por uma série aparentemente interminável de retrocessos pessoais, mas eu passei o último ano colocando as coisas de volta nos bastidores. Agora estou saindo de lá novamente com uma nova perspectiva de vida, e procurando novas aventuras, tanto profissionalmente quanto pessoalmente.

Meu trabalho é fortemente influenciado por muitos dos movimentos artísticos do século XX, especialmente mid-century modern (MCM), mas também tons de Art Deco/Streamline Moderne, e um pouco ocasional de Art Nouveau. Encontro inspiração por todo o lugar — arquitetura, história, música, livros, filmes, mas sou especialmente fascinado por toneladas de elementos culturais off-beat da vintage Americana: tiki, pinups, shows burlescos, shows paralelos, cabeças encolhidas, filme noir, filmes drive-in, carros clássicos & trailers, smut vintage, filmes clássicos de terror, sinais antigos, atrações estranhas à beira da estrada e afins. Isso faz com que meu trabalho atraia muitos entusiastas e retrofilos vintage, bem como os da persuasão rock-n-roll.

I was born and raised in the Portland metropolitan area, and have lived here my whole life with the exception of two overly eventful years in Hollywood about 20 years ago.

I have several years of formal design and fine art training, but much of what I know and use daily has been learned through independent study, and in my book that really is the best way to learn. I've been doing graphic design since 1996, and was a full-time freelancer from 2007 to about 2017. I was sidelined for a few years by a seemingly endless series of personal set backs, but I've spent the past year putting things back together behind the scenes. Now I'm stepping out there again with a new perspective on life, and looking for new adventures both professionally and personally.

My work is strongly influenced by many of the art movements of the twentieth century, especially Mid-Century Modern (MCM), but also shades of Art Deco/Streamline Moderne, and an occasional bit of Art Nouveau. I find inspiration all over the place—architecture, history, music, books, movies, but I'm especially fascinated by tons of off-beat cultural elements of vintage Americana: tiki, pinups, burlesque shows, side shows, shrunken heads, film noir, drive-in movies, classic cars & trailers, vintage smut, classic horror flicks, old signs, weird roadside attractions and the like. This makes my work appealing to many vintage enthusiasts and retrophiles as well as those of the rock-n-roll persuasion.
