My work gives you something to look forward to. Morning coffee, entertaining, arranging flowers for your special someone.
These are some of my favorite things:
-morning coffee
-cooking with friends
-making the dishes used to facilitate the above favorite things.
I make my work for you to use everyday, hopefully while doing some of your favorite things. I know some of you do, because I get photos of my work holding warm burritos, serving drinks, full table settings, and even once a bowl on top of a dogs head.
My number one goal is to give special attention to the design elements we take for granted-comfortable handles, smooth delivery of liquid, no wobbles, easy to clean.
What I really love is the final surface treatment. One of my interests is creating what I like to call “tactile delight”-glazed and unglazed surfaces meet, perhaps the place where one’s lips meet the rim or where fingers linger. Also exciting is creating subtle illusions with the reflective quality of luster.
