it's art for the reading home. it's a bit of happy colors, favorite stories, and lots of adventurous details. it's a way to expand your shoe collection without running out of closet space.
each piece of the faerie tale feet series is an original gouache painting that harkens back to the original source material, embellishing the little things that have made these heroines & adventurers who they actually are & who they have become by the last page of the tome.
the backgrounds are full of icons from the original tales-- there always seems to be something more to see!
and why feet? you can tell a lot about a person by his or her posture. and you can tell a lot about a character by his or her shoes. i've painted just the feet in this series so that YOU can step into the story for yourself.
but also be sure you live your own adventure.
& make sure you're wearing the right pair of shoes.

These are such a great way to collect Faerie Tale Feet art when you've run out of wall space! Oversized, thick, and sturdy -- they're made to last. And they look great propped up on the bookshelf when not in use.

Hallie is one of the kindest sellers in etsy I've had the privilege to "meet" online :) she kindly accommodated my request, shipping was really quick, and the print was gorgeous. halthegal exists to make the world a briter place. imbuing soul and spirit with the joy of colour & story.
a navy brat by birth (guam, to be specific), i have the itch to travel incessantly when i'm not home & cozy with a book or an in-progress painting. {& forget about getting me out of the house if it's raining. unless it's to a bookstore. maybe.}
i studied illustration at the savannah college of art and design, illustrated a dozen books or so, worked at numerous book stores {good bye, paycheck!}, and now just make my own art based on my favourite things: stories. and shoes.
i fell in love with painting in gouache in a materials & techniques class & haven't looked back since. such rich hues and brite colours. yum.
books and stories and the common vernacular of life in pictures is what propels my work.
that & coffee.
& sometimes a cookie.
or few. oh, and a chocolate cupcake on friday nights. that's a thing, right?
