Basalt beach stone earrings - these earrings are just simple beach stones that I found on a Cape Ann beach, matched up, drilled and made earrings with. There is a solder ball on the front of the stone and then the sterling silver wire carries through to the back for an easy and comfortable earring. Their total weight is 8.3 grams so they are a little over 4 grams each. They stones are 19-20mm by about 12-13mm. From the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the earring, they are about 1 1/4" long.

Jewelry pieces in my "by the sea" collection feature beach stones that have been smoothed by many years spent crashing against the shore. These stones are in their natural state (versus tumbling) which retains their energy. Over time they become polished by the wearer's skin oils making each piece very individual and personal. When worn, the stones absorb and retain heat from the body and have been said to offer healing qualities to the wearer.
