Cultivation: Soil processing is crucial for the success of sowing and the result. The soil must be plowed or milled before sowing. The harrow must then be used to create a fine, crumbly soil structure. A seedbed that is too coarse carries the risk that the seeds will be covered by the settling soil after sowing. Above all, the areas should be free of perennial weeds such as couch grass, broad-leaved dock or stinging nettles. The optimal sowing time depends on the current climatic conditions. Ideally, sowing should be carried out before wet weather begins. The seeds need at least 6 weeks of continuous moisture after sowing in order to germinate optimally. The best time for sowing is spring, although in principle year-round sowing is possible with restrictions. When sown in late summer, the annual species contained in the mixtures are usually no longer used. However, the main perennial species included are not affected by this.

After being sown for the first time, the perennial flowers, herbs and perennials require no care for up to 5 years.

Tip:

The seeds can be mixed to 3 - 5 times their volume by adding sawdust and quartz sand. This ensures a better distribution of seeds across the areas. The seeds are of different sizes due to the 40 varieties.

Packaging:

Our seeds are weighed according to the manufacturer's recommendations and packed in a natural paper flat bag. For the benefit of nature, we completely avoid using plastic in packaging and shipping - 100% plastic-free.

Storage:

The seeds come from the last harvest and have a shelf life of at least 2 years. Store in a cool, dry place until sowing. The shelf life of seeds is usually 2 to 3 years according to the manufacturer. Some seeds go numb over the years, others last almost indefinitely if stored correctly.

Important note to prevent misunderstandings: The seeds of herbs and flowers can be very tiny. However, by carefully weighing and counting, we ensure that the information and content match. Most of the time it is even a little more than what is offered and on the packaging. At Hof Oase you don't have to count seeds. Who counts 2000 seeds...!?
