I purchased all three books in the series, and had to leave a review on each. They are very nice printings, and a great addition to my collection. I only wish the story could go on forever!
Fantastic comic. Wonderful joy to enjoy it again. Thank you, Aviv!
There are no words in Stupid Snake, and there are no words to describe my happiness at this moment. The Sculpture is adorable and perfect, and I wish to be buried with it, as to never part with the damn thing. First "read" the comic in 2012, so a bit late, but have been re-reading about once a year ever since, anytime I feel down or under. Stupid Snake never failed to help me forget about an awful break-up, or some other heartache. We'll be reading it together now, me and Man In Troll Costume, kinda like the "the notebook" only not as trashy.
Although Fishbird is a straight-forward comic, there are some interesting things said "between the panels." For example, we never find out why Titi hangs out with the three other boys. But there are some clues: their matching broken egg tattoos. The fact that they claim ownership over Titi, referring to her as "our lovely here," and become angry when she disappears. I couldn't help but try to analyze this weird little comic. Maybe there's some commentary on violence here, with the parallels between the hunt for the rare Fishbird and the antagonists' search for Titi after she leaves them. Which makes me wonder, what is the older hunter supposed to represent? Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Either way, Fishbird is a very weird, beautifully colored, enigmatic little comic filled with nervous suspense.
