PHYSICAL PRINT COPY - Temperature Tree cross stitch pattern
Detailed video for adjusting my Temperature patterns for a leap year: https://youtu.be/sv1uC7i3I4M
Stitch this fun 365 days project for the new year! Create a one-of-a-kind design that reflects the changing temperatures throughout the year. This counted cross stitch pattern will result in a colorful tree whose leaves change in color throughout the year. Stitch one leaf each day using one of 20 different floss colors - whichever one has been assigned to that day's high temperature - and watch your tree grow! Each of the 12 branches contains exactly the right amount of leaves for that month, as you work your way clockwise around the tree trunk. (For a leap year, I have charted an optional leaf for February 29th).
The second picture shows an example tree using temperatures from my town during the year 2017. The third picture is what the pattern will look like, since every person will be stitching different colors for each leaf. There are four different temperature charts I have created that allow for people in different climates to participate and all still have a colorful tree. Each version contains the same range of 20 DMC embroidery floss colors for the leaves. The "Varied" version has temperatures ranging from 27-100 degrees Fahrenheit in 4 degree increments, with each increment assigned a DMC color. The "Hot" version ranges from 50 to 110 degrees, the "Cold" version ranges from 12 to 85 degrees, and the "Extreme" version ranges from -10 to 110 degrees (Celsius conversions are included). ***All four temperature charts are included in this instant download.***
A great resource for finding temperatures in your hometown is accuweather.com. Within the Local Weather page, choose the "Month" view, and you can see temperatures for the past year.
