The origin of Hemptopia
Onze winkel begon in 2005 met het idee om functionele hennepkleding te maken die is ontworpen rond comfort en functionaliteit. Ik kocht een paar meter materiaal en een Juki 550 DDL naaimachine en begon te snijden en naaien in een vrienden 20 voet container. Dit was in de doodse hitte van de zomer en geiten die in de container klommen terwijl ik probeerde te werken. De container stond op hun terrein, omringd door een overvloed aan kippen, herten, geiten, katten, honden, coyotes en allerlei andere beestjes. Na een tijdje een paar items te hebben gemaakt om ze uit te testen om te zien hoe ze functioneren en dragen, begonnen we ze te adverteren en ze aan vrienden en familie te verkopen. Van daaruit hebben we ons vertakt om online te gaan verkopen aan een grotere en bredere wereld, in de hoop onze milieuvriendelijke en natuurlijke producten met u te delen.
Our shop started back in 2005 with the idea to create functional hemp clothing designed around comfort and functionality. I purchased a few yards of material and a Juki 550 DDL sewing machine and started cutting and sewing in a friends 20 foot container. This was in the dead heat of summer and goats climbing about in the container as I was trying to work. The container was on their property, surrounded by a plethora of chickens, deer, goats, cats, dogs, coyotes and all sorts of other critters. After a while of making a few items testing them out to see how they function and wear we started advertising them and selling them to friends and family. From there we branched out to start selling online to a bigger and broader world, in a hope to share our eco-friendly and natural products to you.
