David (the "Tucker" of the Mother Tucker team) is a bartender, about 4 years ago served some of his mixed drink creations in antique glasses. The customers/friends loved the drinks AND the glassware.....and asked if they could purchase glasses like the ones he used.

That question led to the creation of Mother Tucker's Place.

David AND Jolene (the "Mother" of the Mother Tucker team) enjoy searching out vintage items, as well as creating unique art (David paints and sculpts, and Jolene sews). We're both musicians, so finding vintage musical instruments is especially fun!

Offering our finds and creations to others was a logical progression.

Our debut was at the Round Top, TX Antiques Show, where we participated each spring and fall for 3 1/2 years. At that same time, we opened our Etsy store, which is (of course) open year-round.

When David was a college student, he designed a messenger bag that Jolene made in 3 different sizes, using corduroy, denim, and other sturdy fabrics. We've since added hobo bags, tote bags, market bags, cross-body sling bags, and newspaper bags to the selection. We considered creating a new business, "Mother Tucker's Bags," but decided instead to incorporate the bags into Mother Tucker's Place on Etsy.

To be environmentally conscientious, we occasionally re-use clean cardboard boxes or other packing materials. All our packaging supplies are recyclable, and the packing peanuts we use are biodegradable. We respectfully request that you also recycle the packaging so that we can keep as much as possible out of landfills.
