My Handmade World
Ich habe immer die Kunst der handgefertigten Arbeit geschätzt, den Akt, ein wenig von sich selbst in die Dinge zu gießen, die man macht, egal ob sie für dich oder für andere sind.
Ich spiele seit ein paar Jahren mit Nadel und Faden. Es begann mit Kreuzstichen. Meine Mutter hat Kreuzstiche gemacht und ich liebe es, dass wir immer noch die Weihnachtsstrümpfe verwenden, die sie für meinen Bruder, meine Schwester und mich genäht hat. Sie müssen jetzt mindestens 20 Jahre alt sein und trotzdem toll aussehen! Mein erstes Stück Stickerei wurde für die Hochzeit meiner Schwester gemacht. Ich habe drei Teile zusammen für sie gemacht und mich sofort in die Stickerei verliebt. Es ist so ein vielseitiges Handwerk, mit dem Sie ziemlich viel mit dem Faden zeichnen können! Sie können so traditionell oder wild damit sein, wie Sie wollen! Ich begann mit einfachen Mustern und begann dann, die Muster an meine Launen anzupassen und ging dann schnell dazu über, meine eigenen Muster zu erstellen, die ich jetzt hier mit Ihnen teile. Was ich an der Stickerei am meisten liebe, ist, dass sie dich zwingt, langsamer zu werden. Ich liebe es, mit meinen Händen zu arbeiten und ich liebe das, was jedes Stück, das ich mache, ich lerne ein wenig mehr über mich selbst :)

I have always appreciated the art of handmade work, the act of pouring a little bit of yourself into the things you make whether they are for you or for others.
I've been playing with needle and thread for a few years now. It started with cross stitching. My mother used to cross stitch and I love that we still use the Christmas stockings she stitched for my brother, sister and me. They must be at least 20 years old now and still look great! My first piece of embroidery was made for my sister's wedding. I made three pieces all together for her and immediately fell in love with embroidery. It's such a versatile craft that allows you to pretty much draw with the thread! You can be as traditional or wild with it as you want! I started with simple patterns, and then started adapting the patterns to my whims and then quickly moved to making my own patterns which I now share with you here. The thing that I love most about embroidery is that it forces you to slow down. I love working with my hands and I love that which each piece I make, I learn a little more about myself :)
