Während mein Mann gegen den Krebs kämpfte, hatten wir Mühe, erschwingliche, anpassungsfähige Kleidung für ihn zu finden. Meine Lösung bestand darin, welche zu entwerfen und zu versuchen, anderen zu helfen.
While my husband was battling Cancer, we struggled to find him affordable, adaptive clothing. My solution was to create some and to try to help others
Ich bin Amanda, Inhaberin/Gründerin von Project Remission, LLC. Ich bin Mutter, Pflegerin und Multitaskerin. Ich begann, anpassungsfähige Hemden im Krankenhausstil für meinen Mann zu nähen, als er eine Chemotherapie bekam. Er hatte einen PICC-Katheter im Arm und war fast immer an irgendeine Art von Infusion angeschlossen. Seine Ärzte brauchten einfachen Zugang zu seinem Katheter, also kamen normale T-Shirts nicht in Frage, da wir sicherstellen mussten, dass seine Kleidung nicht an seinem PICC-Katheter zog. Krankenhauskittel sind jedoch furchtbar und nicht bequem. Ich begann, ein paar seiner alten T-Shirts zu nehmen und sie selbst anzupassen. Er war begeistert, also machte ich weitere. Nach Beginn seiner Krebserkrankung benötigte er schließlich vier Bauchoperationen. Mit seinen sich ändernden Bedürfnissen änderte sich auch mein Fokus. Seitdem habe ich mein Angebot etwas erweitert und mache jetzt Portkissen und Erholungskissen für Ports und den Komfort nach Operationen. Mein Mann liebt sein Erholungskissen, da es seine notwendigen Autofahrten viel angenehmer macht.
Unser Ziel ist es, anderen den gleichen Trost zu spenden, den er erfahren hat. Krebs ist ätzend. Die Genesung nach einer Operation ist meist anstrengender, als wir uns vorstellen können. Die Genesung ist hart. Und dabei ist Trost wichtig! Wenn wir anderen helfen können, ihren Weg zur Genesung ein wenig angenehmer zu gestalten, dann ist unser Shop ein Erfolg.
Jeder Einkauf in unserem Shop ermöglicht es uns, Trostartikel an Krebspatienten zu spenden. In diesem Jahr haben wir bisher 181 Trostartikel an Organisationen in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, New York, Michigan und darüber hinaus gespendet. (Stand: 01.06.2024)

I am Amanda, Owner/Creator of Project Remission, LLC. I am a Mom, Caregiver and Multitasker. I began making adaptive, hospital style shirts for my husband when he was going through Chemo. He had a PICC line in his arm and was nearly always hooked up to some sort of IV. His practitioners needed easy access to his line, so regular tshirts were not an option, as we had to make sure that his clothing did not pull on his PICC line. However, hospital gowns are awful and not comfortable. I began taking a couple of his old tshirts and adapting them myself. He loved them, so I made more. He ended up needing four abdominal surgeries after his Cancer Journey began. As his needs changed, so did my focus. I have since expanded a bit and now make Port Pillows and Recovery Pillows for Ports and Post Surgical comfort. My husband loves his Recovery Pillow, as it makes his necessary car rides much more comfortable.
Our goal is to help provide the same type of comfort that he received to others. Cancer Sucks. Surgery is usually more work to recover than we ever anticipate. Recovery is hard. Through it all, comfort matters! If we can help anyone else's Recovery Journey be a bit more comfortable, then we consider our shop a success.
Every purchase made from our shop affords us the ability to donate comfort items to current Cancer Warriors. This year so far, we have donated 181 Comfort Items to organizations in PA, WV, OH, NY, MI and beyond. (As of 6/1/2024)
