For the Love of Quilting!

My Grandmother's love for sewing and designing has been a part of my life since I was a child. In my adult years I would sit in the afternoon and have a cup of tea with my mother while we hand quilted her latest treasure.

I taught my Granddaughter how to quilt when she was 12 years old. This inspired her to make a gift for her friend. She designed her own pattern with several ideas she saw in my quilt room. She chose her own fabrics and her story began.

It was so beautiful that a friend suggested she enter it into the Wisconsin State Fair. She won First Place Blue Ribbon in her teen age group. She was also chosen "Best of Show" and awarded a ribbon and a cash prize.

She was then asked by a Guild Member of a Quilt Show from Mukwanago, WI to enter her quilt in their showing. She won 2nd Place for her Quilt in her age group in that showing. She then lovingly gave the gift to her friend.

Quilting is a love that is passed on to create an item that will be cherished for many years.
