5 out of 5 starsI bought from TARDOZ a fantastic piece. It has a special meaning for me and it's so beautiful and original. It went straight to our bedroom. I asked if I could hang it on the wall and she made ir possible! Excellent package and attention to details. Also super fast. I highly recommend this seller.

Here in my workshop.
My life revolves around tiles.
The first time I heard the word “tardoz” was at the beginning of the professional course on Tile conservation and restoration which I attended at Museu Nacional do Azulejo (National Tile Museum) in Lisbon: “tardoz” meant the back of a ceramic tile, the face which had to be properly cleaned out of mortar.
It was 1990.
Tardoz is a small workshop based in Lisbon focused on the art of portuguese ceramic tiles - azulejos. At the workshop I conserve and restore ancient ceramic tiles; make handmade replicas; supply handmade bisque of various sizes and thickness and also develop contemporary ceramic tile projects. At the workshop I know that the azulejo is a key element for portuguese identity and I am thrilled to contribute to its preservation and continuity.
Tardoz is a small workshop where I work with my own bare hands. At the workshop I deal with clay and the art of fire. I am familiar with words like metallic oxides, feldspar or manganese. At the workshop I am passionate about traditional materials and I am eager to apprehend ancient construction techniques – I care about urban rehabilitation and vernacular architecture. At the workshop there’s space for creativity: I shape and build respecting the materials’ own pace. Here, Time takes its own time.
Tardoz is a small workshop – my workshop. Everyone who drops by help me shape it everyday.
