I started my shop after making paintings for gallery shows and creating pieces to give to friends. I love both vintage and new midcentury modern design and furniture. But I also love arts and crafts pottery, abstract expressionists, vintage illustration and quilts of all time periods. I am influenced by all these things. I create art that works in a modern designed home, whether clean and scandinavian or eclectic and colorful.
My own home is a 1906 Victorian shirtwaist, which was neglected for years. Now after rehab It has a touch of the modern transitioning to arts and crafts style. It has the right mix for me and our collection of art, and furnishings.
Originally, I worked for Hallmark as an artist and produced lettering, surface design, and illustration. I have a passion for creating small art ephemera, but I longed to make things people could enjoy in their lives everyday.
I want to contribute affordable art to starter homes and apartments, and also the tiny house movement. But any small room from an office to a nursery would be a great place for my work.
