Kohn Designs is the fiber arts studio of Pennsylvania artist Carol Kohn. The Kohn Designs philosophy is ‘Woven to be worn, not worshiped.’ “So many times, I’ve collected lovely garments and saved them for some great, future moment. By then, either my taste had changed, or the piece didn’t fit, or somehow the garment deteriorated just by sitting in the drawer. I don’t want my customers to feel a piece too precious to wear. Use it now. Enjoy it now. Everyday is precious.”
Kohn Designs has twice been name as a finalist in the prestigious Niche Awards competition. The Niche Awards honors the best in American-made handcraft. In 2009, the Kohn Designs Ribbon Bag was honored as a finalist. In 2008, the Urban Angle Bag was selected. That same year, Handwoven Magazine called the Urban Angle Bag, a “Must-Have.”
