What I wish I’d known before leaving the Army
Soy Nathan Sramek, autor de *Before You Separate*.

I'm Nathan Sramek, the author of Before You Separate. I joined the U.S. Army in 2009 as a 19 Delta, trained at Fort Knox, and served in South Korea with 1st Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division. I later deployed from Fort Knox with 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division and spent 2011 in Khost Province, Afghanistan. I left the Army in 2012 at the rank of Sergeant.
When I got out, I didn't know about many of the benefits and programs covered in this guide. I wish I'd understood them earlier. I created these resources to help service members prepare before leaving and help veterans find useful resources afterward. Keeping them affordable matters to me.
