I'm a surface pattern designer
I have been drawing since I was young, and I knew quite quickly that I wanted to do something with drawing and advertising. That led to a degree in drawing and publicity, but I soon realized that I didn't want to be in front of a classroom at the age of 20. In 2005, I started a second degree in graphic design, which led to the start of my own design agency.
When I was able to gain some experience at other companies, I did that for a number of years, but with my children's future in mind, working part-time was more practical, so I started working for myself again. This time, mainly websites and newsletters.
To still have a creative outlet, I started drawing again (Polychromos pencils). In 2018, I discovered botanical illustration, which remains a major hobby of mine to this day. In addition, I regularly venture into other techniques that I also learned during my studies, such as screen printing, linocut, and watercolor. But also mixed media, acrylic inks, and cyan-o-type. To distinguish myself from all the fun things you can do, I always try to choose flowers and plants as my subject.
In 2025, I came across a number of courses on Surface Pattern Design on Domestika, and this led me to convert my drawings into Surface Pattern Designs.
