Tutto è iniziato nel maggio del 2014, dopo aver ideato e progettato un matrimonio in stile rustico. Sebbene mi dedichi all'artigianato da anni e sia sempre stata la mia passione, quest'esperienza mi ha ispirato a condividere il mio amore per le creazioni fatte a mano.

Il 2015 è stato un anno entusiasmante, durante il quale io e mio marito abbiamo progettato e realizzato l'intero nostro matrimonio. Abbiamo ideato e stampato i biglietti "Save the Date", gli inviti e i biglietti di ringraziamento. La creazione e la costruzione dell'arco d'ingresso, dello sfondo, degli addobbi per la cerimonia e il ricevimento hanno dato vita e raccontato appieno la nostra storia d'amore.

Nel 2016, mi è stato chiesto di aiutare un'amica con i preparativi del suo matrimonio, inclusi l'addio al nubilato e la festa prematrimoniale. Nei mesi precedenti le nozze, abbiamo progettato e realizzato i biglietti "Save the Date", gli inviti e gli articoli di cartoleria per il giorno del matrimonio, come i programmi, i segnaposto, i cartellini con i nomi e altre decorazioni per il suo matrimonio di settembre. È stato durante questo periodo emozionante che io e mio marito abbiamo avuto la gioia di scoprire di aspettare un bambino. Nel novembre del 2016 ho dato alla luce il nostro piccolo Jack. Poco dopo, anche l'amica che avevo aiutato con i preparativi del matrimonio è rimasta incinta. Mi è stato chiesto di organizzare il baby shower e ne sono stata entusiasta... tutti sanno che non posso rifiutare un evento che prevede attività creative. Dopo aver progettato un baby shower a tema "Arca di Noè", mi sono sentita ispirata a fare il passo successivo e condividere la mia passione per l'artigianato e il design. Ed è così che siamo arrivati a oggi con il nostro piccolo negozio Etsy, DIY CUSTOM DESIGNS. Visto che i nuovi bebè sembravano essere il tema del 2016, ho iniziato a disegnare e selezionare body personalizzati e tele. Nei prossimi mesi amplieremo la nostra collezione con altri prodotti artigianali.

Mio marito Pat frequenta la scuola per paramedici all'UCLA, mentre io lavoro a tempo pieno e cresciamo due splendidi bambini. Questo è solo l'inizio del nostro percorso per coltivare e condividere la mia passione per l'arte e il design creativo. Siamo profondamente grati a ognuno dei nostri clienti che si prendono il tempo di visitare il nostro negozio e di partecipare alla nostra avventura. Mi riempie di gioia poter condividere le nostre creazioni, proprio come altri hanno condiviso le loro con noi. Le nostre idee sono spesso ispirate dal nostro figlio Wyatt di 8 anni e ora dal nostro piccolo Jack, così come dalle esperienze che condividiamo insieme. Condividere creatività, design e nuove idee è ciò che ci motiva a continuare a creare nuovi pezzi e design che speriamo di condividere con gli altri.

Ci siamo prefissati alcuni obiettivi e, man mano che la nostra base clienti crescerà e avremo successo, vorremmo migliorare il nostro spazio di progettazione per sviluppare ulteriormente la nostra attività. Attualmente, gestiamo tutto dal nostro ufficio domestico. Desideriamo gestire un'attività ecocompatibile, biologica dall'inizio alla fine. Vorremmo investire in tecnologie e materiali che siano al contempo vantaggiosi e di altissima qualità per i nostri clienti e rispettosi dell'ambiente. Abbiamo anche una forte visione di collaborare con un'organizzazione umanitaria o di crearne una nostra che possa fornire abbigliamento a bambini svantaggiati di tutte le età.

It all began in May of 2014 after creating ideas and designing a rustic wedding. Though I've been crafting for years, and it's always been my passion, this experience inspired me to share my love of hand crafting.

2015 was an exciting year as my husband and I designed and crafted our entire wedding. We drafted and printed Save the Dates, Invitations and Thank you cards. Creating and building our entry arch, backdrop, ceremony and reception decor gave life and truly told our love story.

In 2016, I was asked to help a friend with her wedding festivities, including her Bridal Shower and Bachelorette weekend. In the months before the wedding we designed and crafted Save the Dates, Invitations, as well as the Wedding day paper goods such as programs, table cards, name placards and other decor to accent her September wedding. It was during this exciting time that my husband and I were delighted to learn that we were pregnant. It was November of 2016 that I gave birth to our baby boy Jack. Shortly after, the friend I helped with all of the wedding festivities also became pregnant. I was asked to host the Baby Shower and excited to do so...everyone knows I can't turn down an event that involved crafting. After designing a "Noah's Ark" themed baby shower, I was inspired to take the next step towards sharing my passion of craft and design. This brings us to here and now and our little Etsy shop, DIY CUSTOM DESIGNS. As new babies seemed to be the theme of 2016, I began designing and curating custom Onesies® and canvas'. We will be adding more to our collection and additional hand-crafted products in the coming months.

My husband Pat is attending Paramedic School at UCLA as I work full-time and we raise two beautiful boys. This is just the beginning of our journey to pursue and share my passion for creative art & design. We are so thankful for each and every one of our customers who take the time to visit our shop and take part in our adventure. It brings me so much joy to be able to share our creations just as others have shared theirs with us. Our ideas are often inspired by our 8 year old Wyatt and now our baby boy Jack as well as the experiences we share together. Sharing creativity, designs and new ideas is what motivates us to continue creating new pieces and designs we hope to share with others.

We have set out some goals and as our customer base grows and we become successful, We would love to improve our design space to build our business. Currently, we run everything out of our home office. We would like to run an eco-friendly business that is organic from start to finish. We would love to invest in the technology and materials that are both beneficial and highest in quality for our consumers as well as beneficial to the environment. We also have a strong vision of partnering with a humanitarian organization or starting one of our own that could provide under privileged children of all ages with clothing.
