Wear something comfy that's a reflection of you!
What we wear can and should reflect the incredibly unique, interesting, complex individuals that we are. It should make us comfortable and allow us to be the best version of ourselves. Our clothing should reflect our values and help us prioritize what's important.
I began sewing when the pandemic first started. I needed a creative outlet for all the stress I was experiencing at my day job, and I needed something to fill all the time stuck at home. I didn't realize just how much a creative outlet had been missing from my life. My childhood was filled with books, math problems, and after school programs. I yearned to make art but could never make the time. Fast-forward to my twenties, and I realized that making and creating were the things that I needed to feel whole during the period of greatest turmoil in my life.
I realized that I needed to keep this creative outlet no matter what. It brought me calm, helped me put away the stress of the day, and gave me a chance to reflect. I also enjoyed sharing my makes with others. So now I have opened a shop where I loving handcraft clothing that is unique, fun, and supports the values I hold dear. I endeavor to share things that are more sustainable and ethical than what fast fashion can provide. An article of clothing should become an old friend worn during all of the best memory-making, not something that falls apart after the first wash.
Since beginning my sewing journey, I have also started learning embroidery. I recently purchased an industrial 15-needle machine, and I'm excited to see what I can create with it.
