Our Story
INKON è iniziato con una semplice conversazione.
Ho sempre progettato. Soprattutto per le nostre pareti. Creavo opere d'arte per la casa, le stampavo, le cambiavo e le modificavo di nuovo. Mia zia Dawn mi chiese persino di progettare alcuni pezzi su commissione per la sua nuova casa, il che mi fece pensare che forse si trattasse di qualcosa di più di un semplice hobby.
E poi c'è mia madre. Ha una vera passione per l'eucalipto. Se girate per casa sua, troverete più piante di eucalipto finte di quante possiate contare. Quindi, naturalmente, ho finito per disegnare stampe di eucalipto anche per lei.
Una sera, dopo averne parlato per la centesima volta, Joanne disse: perché non apriamo un negozio su Etsy?
Così abbiamo fatto.
Non c'era un grande piano. Solo noi due al tavolo della cucina a cercare di capire come procedere. Io mi sono concentrata sulla creazione di stampe moderne e di decorazioni murali pulite e intenzionali. Joanne ha tenuto tutto in ordine, ha gestito i clienti e si è assicurata che non passassi da un'idea all'altra prima di aver completato l'ultima.
La maggior parte di questo tempo è stato costruito nei vuoti della vita familiare. Le mattine presto. Le notti tardi. Il nostro bambino sulle ginocchia mentre cerco di usare un mouse con una mano.
La prima volta che qualcuno ha ordinato una delle nostre stampe, non potevamo crederci. La prima volta che ne abbiamo spedita una in Australia, è stato surreale.
Quello che è iniziato come un progetto per la nostra casa si è trasformato in INKON. Al momento ci concentriamo su arte murale creativa e stampe artistiche di alta qualità, ma l'obiettivo è progettare di più per la casa, sempre con lo stesso stile ponderato.
Tutto è iniziato con una conversazione, un po' di convinzione e la decisione di provare.

INKON started with a simple conversation.
I had always been designing. Mostly for our own walls. I would create pieces of wall art for the house, print them, swap them out and tweak them again. My Auntie Dawn even asked me to design a few commissioned pieces for her new house, which made me think maybe this was more than just a hobby.
And then there is my mum. She has a serious thing about eucalyptus. If you walk around her house you will find more fake eucalyptus plants than you can count. So naturally, I ended up designing eucalyptus prints for her too.
One night, after talking about it for the hundredth time, Joanne said, why don’t we just open an Etsy shop?
So we did.
There was no big plan. Just the two of us at the kitchen table figuring it out. I focused on creating modern prints and clean, intentional wall art. Joanne kept everything organised, handled customers and made sure I did not jump from one idea to the next before finishing the last one.
Most of it has been built in the gaps of family life. Early mornings. Late nights. Our baby on my knee while I try to use a mouse one handed.
The first time someone ordered one of our prints, we could not quite believe it. The first time we sent one to Australia, it felt surreal.
What started as me designing for our own home has grown into INKON. Right now we focus on creative wall art and premium art printing, but the goal is to design more for the home, all in the same considered style.
It began with a conversation, a bit of belief and a decision to try.
