Where a Childhood Hobby Became a Full-Time Dream
Hi, I’m Jennifer — the creator behind Pop of Pretty Jewelry
The very first thing I ever made was a crochet blanket when I was just 7 years old. My grandmother patiently taught me my first stitches, and from that moment on, I was hooked. Crafting became my happy place. Over the years, I tried just about every craft under the sun — cross stitch, painting, drawing, and more.
About 20 years ago 😝, I was sitting at my son’s football game when I noticed another mom wearing a beautiful bracelet. I asked where she bought it, and she said, “I made it.” I remember thinking, WOW — another craft I can teach myself! That same day, I went out and bought over $200 in supplies… and I’ve been creating jewelry ever since.
What started as a hobby turned into making pieces for friends, then craft shows, and eventually opening my Etsy shop. The first year was a learning experience, but I took a leap of faith — I left my full-time job to run my Etsy business full time.
This has been the best job I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. 💛
