Jag har alltid tyckt om att fotografera. Men jag hade aldrig mer än ett tillfälligt intresse innan jag blev utvald av National Geographics redaktörer för en specialbok, "Getting Your Shot: Stunning Photos, How-to Tips, and Endless Inspiration From the Pros".
Ett frö såddes, och det har vuxit med otrolig glupskhet. År 2015 startade jag mitt eget fotoföretag. Folk säger till mig: "Du har hittat din gåva." Jag känner att jag har fått en gåva.
Jag gillar livfulla färger, naturliga uttryck och närbilder. Djuren och växterna jag fotograferar är antingen lokala – ofta i mitt eget grannskap – eller tagna på djurparker och rehabiliteringscenter för vilda djur. Jag älskar att kunna fånga de vackra varelserna och platserna på vår jord och framhäva deras unika egenskaper och personligheter. Mitt mål är att börja utforska mer och fotografera varje plats jag besöker.
När min dotter var 11 år upptäckte hon en passion för fotografering. Hon är ett naturtalent! Hon älskar matrixfotografering, särskilt blommor. Hennes arbete har vunnit många tävlingar, inklusive Best of Show for Youth Photography på Florida State Fair. Och så, år 2020, blev den här butiken ett mor-dotter-projekt. I have always enjoyed taking photographs. But I never had more than a casual interest before being selected by National Geographic editors for a special book, "Getting Your Shot: Stunning Photos, How-to Tips, and Endless Inspiration From the Pros."
A seed was planted, and it has grown with incredible voracity. In 2015 I launched my own photography business. People tell me, "You have found your gift." I feel a gift has been given to me.
I like vibrant color, natural expressions and close ups. The animals and plants I photograph are either local - often in my own neighborhood, or taken at zoos and wildlife rehabilitation centers. I love being able to capture the beautiful creatures and places of our earth, highlighting their unique features and personalities. My goal is to begin exploring more and photographing each place I visit.
When my daughter was 11, she discovered a passion for photography. She is a natural! She loves macro photography, especially of flowers. Her work has won many contests, including Best of Show for Youth Photography at the Florida State Fair. And so, in 2020, this shop became a mother-daughter endeavor. You can find her work under, "Katherine Ross Art." She offers some beautiful photography, as well as digital art created from her images.
