I love to sew
¡Hola! Soy Sweet Mama K y soy esposa, mamá de CUATRO chicas y amante de todo el bricolaje.
Después de que nació mi primera hija, aprendí a coser. Anhelaba que tuviera algunas piezas únicas y a medida en su armario, pero no podía pagar los precios minoristas. Además, quería la emoción de verla usar algo que *yo* creé y elegir / coser todas las telas yo mismo.
Rápidamente me enamoré de la creación y el proceso de costura. Era algo que podía hacer como madre que estiraba mi cerebro de una manera nueva y, por lo general, podía terminar un proyecto en una o dos siestas. Fue gratificante hacer algo con mis manos que durara (gran parte de mi trabajo como madre era ambiguo o no mostraba resultados hasta meses o años después).
Mi costura continuó durante todo el tener otro bebé y pronto estaba cosiendo todos los días.
En 2014, abrí esta tienda de Etsy para vender algunos de los productos que estaba haciendo. Lo disfruté y aprendí mucho en el proceso. Aproximadamente un año después, tuve que cerrar mientras nos preparábamos para que llegara nuestra tercera hija y una gran mudanza fuera del estado.
Nuestra cuarta hija vino en el ínterin y me mantuve al día con mi costura, pero no tenía el margen para mucho más.
Pero cuando este último bebé cumplió un año, he sentido la fuerte necesidad de volver a este espacio. Estoy emocionada de compartir con ustedes algunos de mis patrones favoritos que he desarrollado y cosido durante muchos años.
Me encanta la emoción de coser algo especial para mis hijas (¡y a veces para mí misma!). Es muy gratificante. Estoy encantado de poder compartir esta pasión con ustedes.
Y en 2021, abrí mi tienda hermana: SibbyClips; un lugar para vender mi arte digital y clipart. ¡Etsy ha sido muy amable conmigo y estoy emocionada de estar aquí de nuevo!
Hi! I am Sweet Mama K and I am a wife, mama to FOUR girls, and a lover of all DIY.
After my first daughter was born, I taught myself how to sew. I longed for her to have some unique, bespoke pieces in her wardrobe, but couldn't afford the retail prices. Plus, I wanted the thrill of seeing her wear something *I* created and picking out/stitching together all of the fabrics myself.
I quickly fell in love with the creation and process of sewing. It was something I could do as a mom that stretched my brain in a new way and typically I could finish a project in one or two naptimes. It was rewarding to make something with my hands that would last (so much of my work as a mom was ambiguous or wouldn't show results until months or years later).
My sewing continued throughout having another baby and soon I was sewing every day.
In 2014, I opened this Etsy store to sell some of the goods I was making. I enjoyed it and learned so much in the process. About a year later, I had to close down as we prepared for our third daughter to arrive and a big, out-of-state move.
Our fourth daughter came in the interim and I kept up with my sewing but didn't have the margin for much else.
But as this last baby turned one, I have felt the strong urge to be back in this space. I am excited to share with you some of my favorite patterns that I have developed and sewed for many years.
I absolutely love the thrill of sewing up something special for my daughters (and sometimes myself!). It's so rewarding. I am thrilled to be able to share this passion with you.
And in 2021, I opened up my sister shop: SibbyClips; a place to sell my digital art and clipart. Etsy has been so kind to me and I am excited to be here again!
