15 anni fa ho iniziato a creare i miei gioielli. Per anni ho fatto ricerche sulla storia anatolica, il pizzo turco, gli uncinetti vintage, le pietre semipreziose, i tessuti autentici... Le persone intorno a me hanno iniziato a incoraggiarmi a condividere i miei progetti con il mondo. Dopo che io e mio marito abbiamo lasciato il nostro lavoro e viviamo nella frenetica Istanbul, abbiamo deciso di trasferirci nella città balneare di Antalya, nella regione mediterranea della Turchia, e abbiamo aperto il nostro negozio Etsy. Questo è quando inizia il mio viaggio colorato.
Amiamo Antalya perché è una bellissima città vicino al Mar Mediterraneo dove storia e natura si fondono senza soluzione di continuità. Ci sono incredibili siti storici intorno ad Antalya. Molte antiche civiltà sono state qui tra cui Licia, Ittita, Panfilia, Bizantina, Selgiuchide, Ottomana ... Esploriamo questi antichi siti e attingiamo al loro inspiratıon. Inoltre cerchiamo diversi tessuti tradizionali turchi che vengono lentamente dimenticati. Penso che abbiamo molto da imparare dalla storia antica e dall'arte che ci circonda.
La nostra intenzione è far rivivere alcuni disegni dimenticati del passato utilizzando materiali eco-compatibili sui gioielli. La diversità della storia anatolica e delle creazioni artistiche mi sta dando l'opportunità di utilizzare tecniche e materiali diversi. C'è un racconto storico dietro ogni singolo disegno come tecniche come l'uncinetto, la serigrafia, l'avvolgimento del filo, la stampa transfer.
Amo il processo creativo e la ricerca; abbinare i colori e combinarli con motivi diversi. Sento che sto ancora crescendo e imparando di più con ciascuno dei miei progetti. Ognuno dei miei disegni è unico nel suo genere o produce in piccoli lotti per preservare il divertimento di indossare qualcosa di unico e sono realizzati con tanto amore e tanta cura.

Qual è il significato di Pinara?
Spesso la gente mi chiede che c'è qualche relazione tra il mio nome Pınar e Pinara. In effetti, queste due parole sembrano simili ma sono parole totalmente diverse. Pınar significa 'fontana' in lingua turca.
Pinara significa "rotondo" nella lingua ancıent Licia ed è il nome di un bellissimo sito della Licia nella regione mediterranea della Turchia. Fu colonizzata intorno al 5 ° secolo aC nella valle di Xanthus e una delle città importanti della Federazione di Licia. Il suo nome si riferisce apparentemente alla forma arrotondata della collina scoscesa su cui originariamente sorgeva la città.

15 years ago I began to make my own jewelry. For years I have researched about Anatolian history, Turkish lace, vintage crochets, semiprecious stones, authentic fabrics... People around me began to encourage me to share my designs with the world. After my husband and I left our jobs and lives in fast paced Istanbul we decided moved to the seaside city of Antalya in Mediterranean region of Turkey and opened our Etsy shop. This is when my colorful journey begins.
We love Antalya because it's a beautiful city nearby Mediterranean Sea where history and nature come together seamlessly. There are amazing historical sites around Antalya. Many ancient civilizations have been here including Lycia, Hittite, Pamphylia, Byzantine, Seljuk, Ottoman ... We explore these ancient sites and draw upon their inspiratıon. Also we search for different Turkish traditional fabrics which are slowly being forgotten. I think we have much to learn from ancient history and art that is around us.
Our intention is revive some forgotten designs of the past by using eco-friendly materials on jewelry. Diversity of Anatolian history and artistic creations are giving me the opportunity for using different techniques and materials. There is a historical tale behind each and every design such as techniques like crochet, screen print, wire wrap, transfer print.
I love creative process and researching; matching colors and combine them with different motifs. I feel that I am still growing and learning more with each of my designs. Each of my designs are one of a kind or produce in small batches to preserve the fun of wearing something unique and are made with lots of love and lots of care.

What's the meaning of Pinara?
Often people ask me that there is any relationship between my name Pınar and Pinara. In fact, these two words look like similar but they are totally different words. Pınar means 'fountain' in Turkish language.
Pinara means 'round' in the ancıent Lycia language and it's the name of a beautiful Lycia site in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. It was settled around 5th century BC in the Xanthus valley and one of the important cities of the Lycia Federation. Its name references apparently to the rounded shape of the precipitous hill on which the city originally stood.
