TIMBE.ES - THE DESERT ARTISAN
Born in Hamburg (Germany) into a family of globetrotting musicians with a multicultural background, Timbe is passionate about Agave wood since 1993, living a hand-made lifestyle that inspires, making him the world's leading agave artisan.

His trajectory has brought him to create a unique Center for Environmental Artistic Education that incorporates an Artisan Workshop, an Agave Museum and Artist Residency located in a green desert oasis in Andalusia (Spain). Committed to a respectful lifestyle he promotes Music, Nature and Agave as transformative elements for sustainable & social development around the globe.

ALL FROM ONE SOURCE - THE MAKING OF....
Our brand stands for a 100% responsible production process, taking advantage of a "natural resource" found in the only desert in Europe, manufacturing musical instruments & sustainable crafts inspired by music & nature. Our work starts with the harvest on the field and ends in the local Postoffice.

EACH OF OUR CREATIONS is unique and has been subjected to the highest quality requirements, from beginning to the final fine-tuning. Thanks to a careful selection of materials and great attention to detail, every single product is sanded by hand and treated with our home-made blend of natural oils. We exclusively use a non-toxic, moisture-resistant wood glue and all our machines are operated by 100% solar energy, the power of the sun in the Andalusian desert.

AGAVE WOOD IS SPECIAL and with up to 1.5 meters per week, extremly fast-growing which could be described as a mixture of bamboo and balsa. It is harder than oak, lighter than balsa, has wonderful colours similar to tropical hardwoods, is warm in sound, easy to work with and above all, the "wood from the desert" creates awareness for sustainable crafts.

AGAVE: OUR SUSTAINABLE RAW MATERIAL
The use of Agave for Sisal natural fiber, food and drinks like Tequila is known for thousands of years. The plant consists of 95% water and is perfectly adapted to the hard conditions of the desert. Its flower grows up to 12 meters high, but only once in a life-time! After that, the plant has completed its life cycle and dies. This is the time to select and use its dry flower-stems in order to bring new life to this unique and sustainable wood from the desert.
