Is this only for dogs?

No. Take your pick — dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles all work, plus rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small pets. The fields cover walks and training for dogs, litter and scratching for cats, cage / noise / cleaning for birds, and secure tank or terrarium housing for reptiles. Print one resume per pet.

I have more than one pet. Do I need to buy it again?

No. Buy once and print the blank resume once per pet — two dogs, a cat and a bird, three reptiles, whatever your household looks like. List all of them in one cover letter and send the resumes together as one packet. Landlords worry most about the unknown total; a clear count, with a resume for each pet, removes that worry. Seniors save 30% with code GOLDEN — no proof, no paperwork, just our thanks.

Will this work for a bird or a reptile? Landlords always ask about noise, smell, and escapes.

Yes — that's exactly what to answer, up front. For a bird, cover cage size, noise level and quiet hours, droppings / cleaning routine, and time out of the cage. For a reptile, cover the secure, locked enclosure, adult size, heating / lighting, feeding (nothing live escaping, ever), and that the pet never roams loose. Put it in writing before they have to ask.

Will this guarantee I get approved with my pet?

Nothing can guarantee that — any seller who promises it is lying to you. What this does is remove the landlord's biggest objection, which is uncertainty. A tidy resume, current vet proof, and a reference turn a vague risk into a specific, well-kept animal with a responsible owner.

I have a large dog / a breed landlords worry about. Will this help?

This is exactly who it helps most. The resume gives you space for training, temperament, exercise, insurance, and references — the proof that matters more than size or breed. Be specific and be honest; specifics are what property managers trust.

Is this an ESA letter or service animal document?

No. This is a pet resume for ordinary pet-friendly and pets-on-approval rentals. It does not certify any animal as an emotional support or service animal.

Can I fill this in on my iPhone?

Yes. After checkout, download the files from Etsy (in the Etsy app or your browser, under Purchases and reviews), then open the included phone format file — it is made to be read and filled on a phone screen, with large fields you can tap and type into, no pinch-zooming. You can also open the fillable PDF in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader app or in Files and tap each field to type. Save the filled copy, then share or send it from your phone, or print it later. An Android phone works the same way.

Can I fill it in on my computer without printing?

Yes. Open the included fillable PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader (free), Apple Preview, or your browser (Chrome / Edge). Click the first field, type, and press Tab to move to the next field. Save a copy with your pet's name in the filename — that saved, filled PDF is what you email or upload with your application. Printing is optional: the separate print PDF is included if you would rather print and write by hand, or print a filled copy for a paper packet.

What should I attach with it?

The cover letter tells you, in order: 1) the pet resume (one per pet), 2) a clear photo of each pet — and for birds and reptiles, a photo of the cage / tank / terrarium too, 3) vet health record (including an avian or exotic vet if that's who sees your pet), 4) training certificate if you have one, 5) a short reference from a previous landlord, neighbour, pet sitter, dog walker, or vet. Don't send everything you own — send it in that order.

Is this legal advice, and which law applies if I use it?

No — it is a general presentation template, not legal advice and not a legal document tailored to your tenancy. If you complete, send, or sign it, it is governed by the laws of the state or province where the rental property / tenancy is located, and where the document is signed. Those laws vary by location; if anything in the template conflicts with your lease or local law, local law prevails. For a dispute or a question about your rights, contact your local tenant advice service, tenancy board, or a lawyer in your area.
