About QcejasFrida

Sales 232
On Etsy since 2014

Hello! My name is Lucy, I was born and raised in Querétaro Mexico, a country rich in traditions and textile crafts.
Since I was a child, I have fallen in love with embroidery and textiles, especially those made in the south of the country. My grandmother was the one who brought me closer to them and who was my inspiration to be a designer.
It was in 2012 on a trip to southern Mexico that I rediscovered the textiles of my country, after living a long time in France. From that moment I saw the economic and social needs that exist in the Women who do this beautiful work, the beauty in each design and I dreamed that everyone could see and appreciate these beautiful garments.
In the spring of 2013 I opened my first online store, in Dawanda (bought by Etsy) thanks to the help of many talented women who collaborate with me to make this project possible. And now, my dream is already a reality, today it is possible to show the world how much beauty there is in Mexican Textile Art.
It was fascinating for me to see how European women proudly wear a genuine garment made in Mexico and how special it feels to wear a unique piece, handmade and with a story behind it.
Later I created my personalized line by Q'cejasFrida !, betting on designs with a contemporary Mexican twist. It is a combination of traditional textiles, with a bohemian, folk and ethnic touch. You will find pieces for men & Surf, women and items for the home.

I currently live in the Canary Islands and go on textile hunting trips in different corners of Mexico, selecting new treasures for you. I collaborate with groups of artisans from Oaxaca and Chiapas; I promote and respect fair trade by giving credit to the artisan work of each region, with my project women and rural peoples are empowered.
In each garment that we put on sale lives the essence of their dreams, their stories, their worldview, heritage, tradition and love. The truest language that crosses every border.
That with the power of good intention, each garment materializes in a better life and reduces gender inequalities for women in these communities.
