a mess...
I like fish, I can’t say why. Maybe because they belong to another realm and painting them means bringing them to light, with their strange faces, their bodies well adapted to water, their colors changing with every movement.
One day I noticed a painting at the window of an antique shop. It was a dull, yellowish fish on a dark background, it looked like a Baroque painting.
For some time I flirted with the idea of buying it and hanging it in my kitchen, but every time that I walked by the shop, the blinds were drawn.
Once, around Christmas time, I walked by the shop and the owner was at the door talking with another person. I was about to stop and enquire about the fish, but instead I continued because I thought that I could not afford it, regardless of the price.
Sometime later I walked again by the store but the painting was not at the window anymore. I felt the urge to find where it was so I entered the shop and I asked about it. The painting had been sold. It was bought by a well known Spanish painter (apologies, I keep the name to myself). And then I
thought about doing the painting myself……..and this is how it all started.
