A Static Free surgiu porque as pessoas que realmente entendem como o mundo está mapeado — que já verificaram dados em campo debaixo de chuva, discutiram sobre sistemas de coordenadas às 16h de uma sexta-feira e viram clientes pedirem roxo — merecem uma camiseta que faça jus a isso.
Não uma camiseta que diga "Eu amo mapas" com um coração. Uma camiseta que diga algo que só eles e mais umas seis pessoas na sala vão entender de verdade.
É isso aí. Sem nenhuma missão mais profunda. Apenas frases que ressoam com alguns poucos, em camisetas decentes. Larry está na área há tempo suficiente para saber que mais nem sempre é melhor e que, às vezes, se perder faz parte da jornada.

We grew up with paper maps in the glovebox and phones attached to the wall. Some of us learned GIS on a UNIX box. Most of us have strong opinions about our art.
Static Free started because the people who actually understand how the world is mapped — who've ground-truthed data in the rain, argued about coordinate systems at 4pm on a Friday, and watched clients ask for purple — deserve a shirt that gets it.
Not a shirt that says "I Love Maps" with a heart. A shirt that says something only they and about six other people in the room will fully appreciate.
That's the whole thing. No deeper mission statement. Just sayings that ring true to a select few, on shirts that are decent. Larry has been in the field long enough to know more isn't always better and sometimes getting lost is part of the journey.
