THE BITS OF WISDOM SHOP - Framed gifts of love to you and to the people you care about
Hace años, comencé a coleccionar cosas que podía transmitir a otras personas para que se sintieran mejor, y cosas que necesitaba cuando necesitaba ajustar mi actitud. Algunos tenían la forma de un poema, a veces simplemente una línea de un poema, una cita o una frase de una canción. Otros fueron escritos importantes que pensé que mis hijos deberían conocer. Algunas las escribí yo mismo. Todos eran tesoros, tan fácilmente perdidos entre los montones o nunca descubiertos en absoluto.
Una Navidad, mi hijo me construyó una computadora y mi hija me sugirió que abriera una tienda en Etsy. Nunca había oído hablar de Etsy y no sabía nada sobre una computadora. Después de luchar por algunas curvas de aprendizaje muy dolorosas, comencé a agregar fuentes increíbles a esos tesoros, luego arte, bordes y hermosos papeles y marcos. Y ese fue el comienzo de mi tienda.
Hay acontecimientos y circunstancias de la vida que tienen el poder de destruir. Cómo reaccionamos ante ellos importa. Por mi vida han pasado muchas personas que afrontaron momentos desgarradores, no con comportamientos autodestructivos o autocompasión, sino encontrando su fuerza interior para afrontar de manera constructiva la mano que les habían repartido. Son esas personas las que nos han inspirado a esta tienda y a mí.
Mi esperanza es que The Bits of Wisdom Shop pueda ser un refugio para alguien en problemas... abrumado, deprimido, que necesita validación, concentración, inspiración, motivación, ofreciendo artículos (o tal vez solo los mensajes que transmiten) que puedan ayudar a afrontar los problemas. algunos de los malos momentos y disfrutando de los buenos.

Years ago, I began collecting things I could pass on to others to make them feel better - and things I needed when my attitude needing adjusting. Some were in the form of a poem, sometimes just a line from a poem, a quote, or a phrase from a song. Others were important writings I thought my children should know about. Some I wrote myself. All were treasures, so easily lost in the piles or never discovered at all.
One Christmas, my son built a computer for me, and my daughter suggested I start an Etsy shop. I'd never heard of Etsy and didn't know the first thing about a computer. After struggling through some very painful learning curves, I began adding amazing fonts to those treasures, then art and borders and beautiful papers and frames! And that was the start of my shop.
There are events and circumstances of life that have the power to destroy. How we react to them matters. Many people have passed through my life who coped with the gut wrenching times, not with self-destructive behaviors or self-pity, but by finding their inner strength to deal constructively with the hand that had been dealt. It's those people who've inspired this shop and me.
My hope is that The Bits of Wisdom Shop might be a refuge to someone in trouble.. overwhelmed, depressed, needing validation, focus, inspiration, motivation - by offering items (or maybe just the messages they convey) that may help in coping with some of the bad times and enjoying the good ones.
