Hola, soy Seyma.
Trabajo como diseñadora y artista, y durante años me he sentido atraída por el papel antiguo, especialmente por las cosas escritas a mano. No sé cuándo empezó. Solo sé que siempre las he conservado.
En mi tiempo libre, paseo por mercados de antigüedades mirando fotografías y documentos olvidados. Poco a poco he ido creando una pequeña colección personal de lo que llamo papeles "huérfanos". Algunos son preciosos. Otros apenas se conservan.
Vivir con estos viejos documentos me ha enseñado algo simple: el papel es increíblemente frágil.
La tinta se desvanece de forma desigual. Los pliegues se debilitan con el tiempo. Una pequeña mancha puede extenderse más de lo esperado. He visto con qué rapidez algo significativo puede volverse ilegible.
Cuando me envías un archivo, empiezo por estudiar la escritura. Amplío la imagen, ajusto el fondo, equilibro el contraste y elimino las marcas que distraen la atención de las palabras. El objetivo es la claridad, para que la escritura se destaque por sí sola, tal como era al escribirla.

Hi, I’m Seyma.
I work as a designer and artist, and for years I’ve been drawn to old paper—especially handwritten things. I don’t really know when that started. I just know I’ve always kept them.
In my free time, I wander through antique markets looking at forgotten photographs and documents. I’ve slowly built a small personal collection of what I call “orphan” papers. Some are beautiful. Some are barely holding together.
Living with these old documents has taught me something simple: Paper is incredibly fragile.
Ink fades unevenly. Folds weaken over time. A small stain can spread more than you expect. I’ve seen how quickly something meaningful can become unreadable.
When you send me a file, I start by studying the handwriting itself. I zoom in closely, adjust the background, balance the contrast, and remove marks that pull attention away from the words. The goal is clarity — so the writing stands on its own, just as it did when it was first written.
