Top Notch Calendars is a family-owned business, supplying quality blank calendars for crafts since 2004.
We are a small, family-run business, working from our home. Back in 2004, I was in charge of the craft time for a group of moms at our local church, and needed blank calendars for a project. We couldn’t find what we were looking for, so I designed a small half-sheet calendar just the way we wanted it, took it to a local print shop, and the rest is history.
Since then, I have designed and had printed calendars each year. I began selling them as a way to earn a little pocket cash for the family and developed a following of regular customers. I came to realize we have a unique product to sell in terms of both design and quality. At the same time, my kids have gotten older, and they have been wanting to find a way to earn some pocket money of their own.
As time progressed, we decided to slowly begin to grow the business and took some purposeful steps. Among other things, we came up with our business name, developed a website, and officially registered our trade name, got an EIN, and applied for a business tax account with the state. I attended a small-business seminar and developed a short and long range plan to help us achieve our goals. And of course, we opened up a shop here on Etsy.
Our goal has been to design and supply a quality product line of blank calendars for crafts, to build our business base of regular customers, and to improve our product selections to meet the needs and desires of our customers. We have expanded from our original two sizes of calendars, to four in 2013, and eight in 2014. Since then, we've tweaked our offerings to meet demand, and at the height of our business, offered all our calendars in either dated or perpetual styles. Through it all, I have been able to teach my kids valuable skills, including sales, marketing, budgeting, editing and proof-reading, word processing and graphic design, how to build and maintain a website, trouble-shooting, appropriate risk-taking, packaging, shipping, and customer service.
In early 2019, we decided to cease printing new calendars for the foreseeable future due to changing family circumstances. At present, we still have some perpetual calendars in stock and will continue to sell these until our supplies are gone. We appreciate all of you who have purchased from us. We would not be here without you. Thank you!
