Tudo começou com um pedaço de mármore.
Não o tipo polido que se vê nos saguões de hotéis, mas uma laje rústica e sem graça que encontrei no pátio de um pedreiro. Quando a virei nas mãos, vi as veias — linhas cinzentas delicadas que atravessavam a pedra branca como fumaça congelada. Mais tarde, descobri que essas veias se formaram ao longo de milhões de anos, um registro da movimentação e acomodação da Terra muito antes de os humanos sequer caminharem sobre ela.
Levei aquela placa para casa. Dei-lhe forma, lixei e poli à mão durante horas. O resultado foi uma bandeja — simples, pesada e fria ao toque. Nela guardava minhas chaves e moedas. Mas também me chamava a atenção. Cada vez que a olhava, lembrava-me de sua antiguidade. De ter esperado na escuridão que eu a encontrasse.
Foi assim que a Trueround começou.
**O Mármore**
Todas as nossas bandejas de mármore são cortadas de pedra natural extraída de pedreiras no sul da Europa e na Ásia. Nunca usamos resina ou pedra artificial. O que você vê é o que a natureza criou. Cada bandeja é polida à mão até obter um acabamento liso e suave, com textura de casca de ovo, que é macio ao toque, mas resistente o suficiente para o uso diário. Os veios de cada peça são únicos — você nunca receberá uma bandeja igual à de outra pessoa.
**A Porcelana**
Nossas xícaras de Jingdezhen são produzidas em uma única oficina na cidade que deu ao mundo a porcelana. Os fornos de Jingdezhen estão em funcionamento desde a Dinastia Song, e os artesãos com quem trabalhamos fazem parte de uma linhagem ininterrupta de maestria na arte da cerâmica. Cada xícara é moldada no torno ou à mão e, em seguida, esmaltada em pequenos lotes. As pequenas variações na forma e no esmalte são intencionais — são a assinatura de um artesão, não de uma máquina.
**Por que fazemos isso**
Vivemos num mundo de coisas idênticas. O mesmo telefone. Os mesmos móveis. A mesma caneca de café branca em milhares de mesas.
Acreditamos que existe outra maneira.
Um objeto com história — geológica ou cultural — muda a forma como você percebe um ambiente. Ele te faz desacelerar. Ele te faz prestar atenção.

– O Trueround
It started with a piece of marble.
Not the polished kind you see in hotel lobbies, but a rough, unremarkable-looking slab I found at a stonemason's yard. When I turned it over in my hands, I saw the veins—delicate grey lines running through the white stone like frozen smoke. I learned later that those veins were formed over millions of years, a record of the earth shifting and settling long before humans ever walked on it.
I took that slab home. I shaped it, sanded it, polished it by hand for hours. What emerged was a tray—simple, heavy, cool to the touch. It held my keys and loose change. But it also held my attention. Every time I looked at it, I remembered that it was ancient. That it had waited in the dark for me to find it.
That's how Trueround began.
**The Marble**
All our marble trays are cut from natural stone sourced from quarries in southern Europe and Asia. We never use resin or engineered stone. What you see is what the earth made. Each tray is hand-polished to a smooth, eggshell finish that feels soft to the touch but is durable enough for daily use. The veining on every piece is unique—you will never receive the same tray as anyone else.
**The Porcelain**
Our Jingdezhen cups come from a single workshop in the city that gave the world porcelain. Jingdezhen's kilns have been firing since the Song Dynasty, and the craftsmen we work with are part of an unbroken lineage of ceramic mastery. Each cup is wheel-thrown or hand-built, then glazed in small batches. The slight variations in shape and glaze are intentional—they are the signature of a human maker, not a machine.
**Why We Do This**
We live in a world of identical things. The same phone. The same furniture. The same white coffee mug on a thousand desks.
We think there's another way.
An object with history—geological or cultural—changes the way you experience a room. It slows you down. It makes you notice.
