Handmade nature inspired ceramics

Axminster, United Kingdom | 3,313 Sales

Announcement    Handmade, nature inspired ceramic tiles and coasters and jewellery.
We are currently stocking only ‘ready to ship items’.
My tiles take at least 10 to 12 weeks to make, sometimes longer depending on size and amount of existing orders. Please be patient and I hope you will think it is worth the wait.

I make Waterlily coasters and flowers when I have a moment and these will be available when made. I will announce shop updates on Instagram: @damsontreepottery.

Everything is made by me, Marieanne Cavaciuti and at times an assistant in my pottery in Devon England. I love to work outside and often use real plants in my ceramics to reflect the beauty of the natural world.
My studio is hidden away in beautiful countryside near Axminster on the borders of Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

For insight into how items are made, offers and new items; see my
website: damsontreepottery.co.uk or
damsontreepottery on instagram

I love to wrap each item as a gift, using recycled card gift boxes and tissue paper;
re-using bubble wrap and boxes as much as possible. If you can re-use or recycle your wrapping when your parcel arrives that would be great; to help keep this wonderful world beautiful!

thank you
Marieanne

Handmade ceramics inspired by nature

I love the excitement of opening the kiln after firing, the treasures and surprises from the experiments conducted every time! I'm so inspired by the beauty of nature all around as I work in the outside most days and enjoy finding fossils on the nearby Jurassic coast and plants around the farm and garden.

It all started when I was a small child making tiny bowls with clay scraped from behind the classroom. I returned to ceramics after a breakdown in my teens and it helped me recover. I bought my own potter's wheel and gas kiln in my late teens and worked as a sculptor in Dorset.

For many years there was no time or room to do pottery with 4 young kids until my youngest started school, I went back to pottery lessons and was asked to help teach the class. My 1st studio was a shed in the garden under the damson trees, where I taught pottery and made my own work.

I now live on a small farm in the beautiful Devon countryside where I work mostly outside. We have a few animals, bed and breakfast rooms and a holiday cottage. I hope to teach pottery when we have developed the barn where I work, if not outside! We are hoping run pottery retreats on the farm.

I love working from home, creating my own ceramics and sharing them with others! Etsy provides such an incredible opportunity to connect with people locally and around the world.
