Wire-Writing Runs in the Family
When I was fifteen, I owned half of a lawn-mower, and half of the lawn-mowing business with my brother. After a particularly hot, sweaty, utterly miserable South Texas summer mowing lawns, I thought 'Bending wire has *got* to be easier than this." So I got my father to teach me, as his father had taught him, how to wire-write. I made my first sale in the first week of class.
I did so well, I sold my half of the lawnmower to my brother.
Then, I paid my way into UT with it... got halfway through a Political Sciences degree, and looked around and thought 'I am already doing what I love, making a living, and having more fun than I ever thought possible, why am I using it to pay for a degree in a field where I'd have to be watching my back all the time, have someone else set my schedule, and have no fun at all.' So I dropped out and have done nothing but Wire-writing all my life.
