Who We Are
Stego Learning makes homeschool curriculum for the kid who doesn’t fit the mold.
Our unit studies are built for middle schoolers — especially the ones who shut down with worksheets, can’t sit still for an hour, or need to build something before a concept clicks. Every product is inquiry-first, hands-on, and designed for short sessions: 30 minutes a day, 3–4 days a week, household materials only.
We started here because we needed this. Our own kid is a different learner — science-brained, hands-on, not a fan of traditional school. We built the curriculum he’d actually engage with, and it worked. So we kept building.
What you’ll find here:
-Literature unit studies — cross-curricular companions to middle grade novels, weaving language arts, history, and rhetoric into one framework. No busywork. Real discussion, real writing, real thinking.
-Science unit studies — inquiry-based companions organized around a Big Question each week. Two experiment options per week (quick build or deep dive), creative reflection choices, and no worksheets. Loosely aligned to NGSS for families who need it, easy to ignore for families who don’t.
-Life science series (Signs of Life) — hands-on biology units that connect every concept to your student’s own body. Cells, body systems, ecosystems, and more — coming as the series grows.
Every PDF is print-ready and screen-friendly. No interactive version is required — just open and go.
On the name: Stego comes from the Greek word στέγω — to cover, to shelter, to hold something up. In 1 Corinthians 13 it’s the word used for love that bears all things. We think a good education works the same way: it builds something strong enough for your student’s curiosity to grow in.
