Royal Burgundy bromeliads are large, colorful bromeliads that brighten up any tropical landscape. They average 16-18 inches across and are very prolific, so they will form large clumps in a few years.
They like bright light. The more light, they darker the color. Light shade is ideal, but they can take a few hours of direct sun once acclimated. These are grown in 20% shade. They can be grown outdoors in zone 10 and possibly zone 9 if covered on cold nights. They will need to be brought indoors in winter in colder regions. If grown as house plants they will need a lot of light to thrive.

You will be receiving a large plant, over a foot across, shipped bare root.

Sorry, we cannot ship to California or outside the contiguous United States.

We only ship healthy plants and make every effort to package them securely so you will receive an intact plant, ready to acclimate to its new home. We generally ship USPS priority mail so that your plants get to you as quickly as possible. Priority mail includes $100 insurance. We are not responsible for damage that happens in transit. If your package arrives damaged, you are responsible for filing a claim with the postal service. We will assist you any way we can.
If you have any other issues with the plants you receive, please contact us at once, before leaving feedback, and we will work to resolve the issue. If plants must be returned for any reason, you are responsible for return shipping.

If the weather is extremely hot or extremely cold where you are when you order your plants, please let me know. We can delay the shipping until the weather improves.
We sell tropical plants that are used to heat and high humidity, but they cannot withstand freezing temperatures. Tropics to You cannot be responsible for plants damaged by extreme conditions while in transit. If temperatures in your area at the time of shipping are below 50 degrees at night, we recommend heat packs, which we have available here:
