Hippo needle felting kit:

OPTION 1: Complete kit
Included in this kit:
~gray wool
~glass eyes
~2 felting needles
~Felting Cushion
(if you already have cushion and needles please choose the no cushion and needles option.)
~Instructions on how to make the Hippo with photographs of each step by Fiber Artist Teresa Perleberg.

This kit includes everything needed to complete this project except a needle and thread to sew in the eyes.

OPTION 2:
In this option I remove the needles and cushion. Choose this option if you would like to purchase more than one kit because you only need one set of needles and one cushion.

Option 3:
Kit W/Wool Cushion - This kit includes everything listed above except we trade out the foam cushion for our specially designed wool felting cushion. We designed it ourselves and manufacture them right here at Bear Creek with, you guessed it, our very own wool. This is a great choice if you plan on doing more felting in the future. The wool felting cushion should last you a lifetime where foam cushions need replacing in between projects. Bundled together here at a reduced price to get you started with the best supplies.

No previous felting experience is necessary. This kit does not require any sewing, knitting or crocheting skills.

The finished Hippo will measure about 2 X 2 inches depending on how firmly it is felted.

This project will take you about 4 hours to complete if this is your first time felting.

The wool for this kit was raised in North Dakota on our farm.

This kit is packaged in a resealable plastic bag that is suitable for gift giving.

Packaged in a smoke free home.

I am afraid I do not do custom work. I did for awhile and found that it was more stressful and took the fun out of what I do. I have found that I can do better work on an animal that I am inspired to make.

That said, I do take requests. I love to hear what my customers would like me to make. I can't guarantee that I will make it but sometimes I am inspired by a request. I keep a list of requests and check it often when deciding what I would like to make next. If you have pictures that is even more inspiring.

I try to notify the person that has made the request when I make that particular animal. I post all my new works on my Facebook page, plus I send out an email newsletter.

All of my kits are designed for beginners. You will be able to complete these kits even if you have never even heard of felting before. Beginners can do any of the kits but I have ordered them in order of difficulty here:

Great kit for making a cute hippo by needle felting. I learned needle felting to make Christmas ornaments for my family. I’m afraid I am hooked. This is a good kit for someone with a beginner’s skills.
