Me ha encantado la artesanía de agujas desde que era una niña. He ido de una disciplina a otra a lo largo de los años, aprendiendo lentamente nuevas habilidades y enganchándome a ellas antes de pasar a la siguiente. Si pienso en retrospectiva, probablemente he probado casi todas las artesanías de aguja posibles, pero hay algunos favoritos a los que siempre parece volver.
El patchwork fue mi pasión durante varios años y creo que este oficio en particular comenzó mi obsesión por coleccionar telas. Mi alijo es pequeño en comparación con muchos que he visto en línea, pero me encanta mucho y casi me disgusta usar cualquiera de las telas realmente bonitas. ¡Quizás es por eso que mi historia de amor actual con applique es tan agotadora! Puedo usar cantidades muy pequeñas de mi hermoso alijo para pintar mis cuadros sobre un fondo más neutro.
Por si el apliques no fuera suficiente, también he podido potenciarlo con bordados a máquina de movimiento libre. Nunca me consideré muy artista, pero encuentro que cuando "pinto" con mi máquina de coser, soy felizmente feliz.
Como puede imaginar, trabajar a tiempo completo como contador de gestión puede ser estresante y agotador, pero producir mis pequeñas obras de arte por las noches y los fines de semana es el antídoto perfecto.

I have loved needlecraft since I was a little girl. I have drifted from one discipline to another over the years, slowly learning new skills and becoming hooked on them before moving on to the next. If I think back, I have probably tried just about every needlecraft possible but there are some favourites I always seem to return to.
Patchwork was my passion for a number of years and I think that this particular craft started my obsession with collecting fabrics. My stash is small in comparison to many I have seen online, but I love it dearly and almost begrudge using any of the really pretty fabrics. Perhaps this is why my current love affair with applique is so consuming! I can use very small amounts of my lovely stash to paint my pictures against a more neutral background.
As if the applique wasn't enough, I have also been able to enhance it with free motion machine embroidery. I never considered myself to be much of an artist but I find that when 'painting' with my sewing machine, I am blissfully happy.
As you can imagine, working full time as a management accountant can be stressful and tiring but producing my little works of art on evenings and weekends is the perfect antidote.
