Original Post

My collaborator made a sale to a Sgt. in the military and I'm shipping it to an APO address. I just started using Paypal shipping, but I don't know what to put for the state. It says "AE" on the address (zip code 09342) and it's in the US. Where is that?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I usually just create my own shipping label based on the address and click on the link provided to create a label, but I didn't actually make the sale, my collaborator did.

Has anyone had experience with this?

I have only done it through Paypal where it did it for me but I found this.

Three Military "States":

AA, which stands for Armed Forces (the) Americas
AE, which stands for Armed Forces Europe
AP, which stands for Armed Forces Pacific

Two "City" equivalents:

APO, which stands for Army Post Office
FPO, which stands for Fleet Post Office
______________
You have to use the green customs form for APO's too.

I just pulled it up on usps.com and AA, AE and AP were at the very bottom of the state list drop down.

Thanks Beachwalk!

Except the AE on my address says it's in the US, not Europe...I wonder how that can be?

Every military address is considered US. It is routed to wherever they are stationed from here. We can't always know where they actually are, it's a secret.

Oh, that makes sense :)
