I've only had one sale, and I'm hoping the buyer leaves feedback. Is there a polite way to ask them to?

Thanks

I've been asked by sellers in a convo -- "Could you please leave me feedback?" and I didn't find it offensive and was happy to oblige.

On the other hand, I've had postive feedback without any notes on items I'd love to know their reaction to, but stopped myself from writing.

This how I ask for feedback:
Thank you again for your order! Please let me know what you think by leaving me feedback. You can do this by clicking on Feedback on the left hand side of your home page. Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you enjoy your painting!

I'm not sure... some people just don't leave it. It used to bother me, but now I don't mind. Only about 70% of my customers leave any at all, even the ones who love my shop enough to keep coming back.

Don't worry! We sellers know that feedback is sometimes hard to get! That should deter anyone from buying from you!

Many of my customers just sign up to buy the one thing and that's it. I don't bither them at all for feedback. What I did start doing recently though is putting a note on the back of my business cards that says:

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Don't forget to leave feedback too! Thanks so much!

I mention it politely in my thank you note to the buyer when I ship the item. My experience has been most new to Etsy buyers just don't leave feedback.

You know, I was soo excited to see "Etsy Transaction..." in my inbox!
Shipped the item off...immediately (as I have so very few online sales).
Having not heard any feedback...it got me wondering if the buyer was happy.

Next thought>> when I buy from other online retailers,,,it is a 50/50 shot if I give feedback...and that's only if they send me a reminder email.

As the old saying goes....only bad service gets broadcasted.

Today, I'm sending a reminder email...versus just wondering. Heck, I don't even know if they got it!

I say - "if you are happy with your purchase please leave some positive feedback, if not, please let me know." But I like the instructions above. Very helpful. I want to know if someone isn't happy because then we can discuss our options - a discount or return if necessary.

I don't think it's wrong at all to ask for feedback. For me, this is a business not a hobby. I have been thanked by customers that just forgot to do it.
