I am looking for an FDA approved food safe fabric to use as lining for sandwich/snack bags. A few Etsy sellers claim to use something called PEVA but you can only get it from China and I'm skeptical of anything produced in China after some of the problems we've seen lately. Other Etsy sellers won't share the info with me on what they use but they also claim that it is FDA approved and food safe. Does anyone know of a fabric that can be used? Please help me.

was worth a try.

have you tried the fda's website? that might be an exercise in futility though since it is a federal agency!

I am not aware of any fabric that is FDA approved for use next to food products. There have been a few threads here in the Forum about this subject and I am not aware of any final answer on this subject.

What about ripstop nylon?

Some folks do say that rip stop nylon is ok.
