I am having a hard time finding a definition for "scooter dress", I know its a 60s style but how would you define it?

Hi all -

I need help dating/identifying this little metal - possibly brass box purse. It has no markings, and I could not find one even remotely similar to it. The inside has a mirror and is lined in a gold velvet with a short nap. Any help is appreciated! Here's the link:

__________

A scooter dress is very specific---it's a mod mini or micro-mini dress, usually with a bit of pleat to the skirt. And it's a certain type of look, not just any mod mini from the 60s. This is an often misused term and many times the skirts are too long or the era is off, or just a 60s mini is featured as "scooter". As far as length, think something short enough to jump on your scooter and go with, not just above the knees.

Some examples:

This one is not Vintage but is very indicative of the style:

and actually, that first dress isn't what would come to my mind when thinking of a scooter dress. The next three are more typical, IMO. I'd love to know what others' think, too.

Thank you for your help Archivia! I still can't find any info on The Gilberts For Tally but that's okay, I'll keep looking.
Thank you also for the definition of the scooter dress.. ♥
