Hey Everyone! The last thread was so successful that it reached 86 pages. I thought it was time to start a new one.
Stumped with your vintage find? This thread is for any and all questions you might have about your vintage and antiques finds. Anyone with ANY expertise or knowledge or opinions should chime in to help, if they wish. I can help with many of the antique and vintage clothing, shoes, and accessories questions, as can many others here. If I know something about other items I'll do my best to try to help with those, too.
My only request is that you try to do your own research BEFORE you start looking for help, to help save others' time. For that, here is a wonderful and extensive, ORGANIZED list of Vintage, Antiques and Collectibles Resource Links at your disposal:
Also, if anyone knows of any resource links to add to that list that are not there already, please feel free to share them here. I am maintaining and updating that list to keep it current.
I think Etsy is a great, FRIENDLY place and I love the Boutique image here. It would be really nice if we could all be knowledgeable about what we sell, to help Etsy develop a good reputation as a Vintage venue as people move here from the big E to sell.

Hi all -
I need help dating/identifying this little metal - possibly brass box purse. It has no markings, and I could not find one even remotely similar to it. The inside has a mirror and is lined in a gold velvet with a short nap. Any help is appreciated! Here's the link:

I am having a hard time finding a definition for "scooter dress", I know its a 60s style but how would you define it?
A scooter dress is very specific---it's a mod mini or micro-mini dress, usually with a bit of pleat to the skirt. And it's a certain type of look, not just any mod mini from the 60s. This is an often misused term and many times the skirts are too long or the era is off, or just a 60s mini is featured as "scooter". As far as length, think something short enough to jump on your scooter and go with, not just above the knees.
This one is not Vintage but is very indicative of the style:
