Hi everyone,

We're excited to announce you will soon be able to see prices on Etsy in any of the 23 currencies listed below.

You can select your currency with a link next to the price on each listing page or a link in the footer. If you're signed in, you can also set your preference at Your Etsy > Account. You can change your currency preference any time, and you won't need an account to view prices in other currencies.

Once you select a currency, item prices will be in your currency in almost all areas of the site. Exceptions include prices displayed in Flash apps (for example: Shop Local or Time Machine 2) and Alchemy; these will remain USD-only.

On listing pages, the price in your currency will appear below the USD price, and will be noted as an approximate conversion.

Sellers will continue to list items with prices in USD, and transactions will still occur in USD. In your shopping cart and throughout the checkout process, Etsy will show an approximate price for your currency below all USD prices and shipping rates. When you view an invoice page, the price will be displayed in your currency below all USD prices and shipping rates.

The exchange rate data we use comes from PayPal and is updated every few hours.

When this launches, we'll offer the following currencies:

* Australian Dollars (AUD)
* Brazilian Real (BRL)
* British Pounds (GBP)
* Canadian Dollars (CAD)
* Czech Koruny (CZK)
* Danish Kroner (DKK)
* Euros (EUR)
* Hong Kong Dollars (HKD)
* Hungarian Forints (HUF)
* Israeli Shekels (ILS)
* Japanese Yen (JPY)
* Malaysian Ringgits (MYR)
* Mexican Pesos (MXN)
* New Zealand Dollars (NZD)
* Norwegian Kroner (NOK)
* Philippine Pesos (PHP)
* Polish Zloty (PLN)
* Singapore Dollars (SGD)
* Swedish Kroner (SEK)
* Swiss Francs (CHF)
* Taiwan New Dollars (TWD)
* Thai Baht (THB)
* U.S. Dollars (USD)

If you are not in the USA when we launch this feature, you'll notice we detect your country and show an overlay where you can set a currency preference. We show this overlay only once when you view a page that displays prices.

We plan to launch browsing in your currency early next week.

This is the first step toward supporting global commerce on Etsy. The next step is to enable selling in your currency. We will share more details with a timeline as we get closer.

If you have any questions, please post in this thread.

Thanks,
Eric and the International team

That's fantastic! I know people have been asking for this for a long long time. Hopefully it will make it easier for international buyers to shop on Etsy!
