Address in Etsy of New Buyer does not match PayPal unconfirmed address

I'm usually not picky about having the addresses in PayPal confirmed. But I do try to make sure that the address in Etsy and the address in PayPal match. In this case, they do not. Nor do the names, or even the email addresses. And this person just registered on Etsy, so no feedback, either.
When I noticed the discrepancy, I emailed both email addresses and asked which address was correct and asked why the addresses were different. I did that first thing this morning and I have not received a reply. I realize people don't always check their email all the time, so I know I could still get an answer.
However, I do have a PayPal payment. And I like to ship promptly.
I just have a bad feeling about this one. I haven't shipped it yet. It's not like it's a high-priced item, but I don't want to just ship it to what might be a bogus address.
I guess I'm wondering where I should go from here? If I do get a reply from the buyer, should whatever their explanation is be sufficient for me to ship? And if I don't get a reply, but I have this PayPal payment, then what? Do I cancel the order and refund the payment?
Anyone been there, done that, that can help me out?

If you don't ship to a Paypal confirmed address, you always run the risk of a chargeback. Whenever I get addresses that don't match, I ALWAYS wait until I receive a confirmation from the buyer of the correct ship to: address. Be sure to send both a Convo and an email!! Then, when you get an answer, if it is not a confirmed address, you have to decide to take a chance or not. If they have an explanation, like a gift for someone, then I go ahead and ship it. So far, no problems, but I have figured it into my pricing to allow for a problem every once in a while. It just happens, because we are dealing with a complete cross section of society, from angels that walk on water to CEO's of big banks.

i would wait maybe 3 days to hear back, because like you said, some people don't check email all that often. personally, if the buyer writes back and specifically asks me to send to a particular address, i do so, even if it's the etsy one and not the paypal one that they prefer, or it's a 3rd party address, or whatever.

Me, too, usually. But (a) they didn't say "hey, I'm sending this to my siste" or whatever, which usually they will. (b) The name on the PayPal address was kind of weird. And NOTHING matched.
I usually am not real worried about these things, but this one just feels off. Maybe they'll email me back with a perfectly good explanation and all of this will have been for naught.
