OMG. I just received two emails (emails, not from etsy's convo system)and the first one looks like it is from UPS (client@ups.com) and it states Delivery Refuse and then some numbers after it. I opened the email and it said something like the delivery should arrive at my home address in about 3 days and to download the attachment for more info. So I did. I had a difficlt time getting the attachment to open (it seemed to download fine) and then all of a sudden my virus protection popped up stating there was a virus attached to the download. I'm still freaking out about it.
Now check out the email address from the second one: federal@usps.com yet it states UPS tracking number (then lists a number) in the subject line. I opened that email and it had the same text inside it as the first one.
I opened both before I realized, after getting the first virus warning, that there was some sort of problem. I also received a second virus warning.
Anyway, I'm not sure what is going on but I wanted to warn you guys.

Those have been going around for a while..... sorry that they almost messed up your computer, just ignore anything that does not address you by name.

Yes, those scream Virus. You have to think of how would USPS or UPS get your email address? Never never NEVER open those attachments!
Just be glad that you've got an upto date virus checker that caught them for you!

Yeah, I got one today in my SPAM that my "Federal Tax...something...something" had been rejected.
Delete, delete, delete--NEVER open--not the email, much less the attachment...
Thank God your virus scanner got it!

I have never heard of that one. Thanks for the warning!

You guys, I feel like crying. I've never heard of those emails before and I have truly gotten emails from Fedex and UPS (when they've charged me even more for shipping than what they originally quoted) so naturally I had no clue to life that there was a problem with these. OMG.
Funny, the virus protection on my computer requested that I update it earlier today, which I did.
Chocolate. I need some chocolate. I'd drink but I don't really drink. OMG.
Anyway, thank you all for your kind words and assurance.

It seriously frosts my pumpkin when I read stuff like this! Why do people want to ruin someones computer/day? If those creeps would spend as much time getting or working on a real job, they might feel better about themselves and not feel the need to destroy other peoples' lives.
Rant over...I feel better now.
OP I am SO glad that your virus protection was on top of it.

unfortunately they do it because it makes them more money than a "real job"

How does someone make money doing something like this? I've always wondered.
